Principles

Co-design.

My work is most helpful when each step of the process is designed in partnership with the people I am working with. I value and seek out each person’s unique perspective and contribution. Our working partnership deepens when we design together, reveal differences in our perspectives, and work towards shared agreement about the best way forward.

Emergence.

Organizations and the people that make them up are complex. While it is useful to define up front the outcomes we are working to achieve and then design a process that we think will achieve those outcomes, we have to stay attuned to what is emerging and open to the work evolving along the way.

Equity.

I work with organizations that are committed to social, economic, and racial equity and know that in order for those organizations to advance equity in the world they must work to advance equity within their own institutions. Regardless of the work we are doing together, I work to notice and name when race, identity, and power are showing up.
